LG posts record profits for 2018, mobile division still losing money

LG is doing great - it just announced a record yearly revenue of $54.4 billion and record profit of $2.4 billion, 10% higher than in 2017. The mobile division is weighing it down, however. Huawei Mate 20 Pro's AI finishes a symphony from two centuries ago

Schubert wrote two movements of his Symphony No. 8 back in 1822, but left it unfinished. Huawei has decided that 197 years of waiting is long enough and has tapped into the AI powers of the Mate 20 Pro to deliver the final two movements. The dual NPU of the phone was used to analyze the timbre, pitch and meter of the existing movements in order to generate a melody for the next two. The Pocophone F1 isn't afraid to challenge flagships and the latest battle is over camera quality. Based on the DxOMark score, it's as good as the iPhone 8 - a phone that costs twice as much (at least).
