2015 Jeep Patriot

The 2015 Jeep Patriot stands as a refreshingly different alternative and a good budget-minded option, in a market filled with small crossover utility vehicles. The Patriot doesn't quite fit in with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4; it's more the size of smaller CUVs like the Nissan Juke and Kia Soul. Over time, Jeep has gradually made...

2015 Dodge Dart

The 2015 Dodge Dart is a sporty, quite fun-to-drive compact sedan that arrived two years ago, replacing the substandard and unloved Caliber hatchback. For 2015 it offers few changes compared to the 2014 model. Last year's Dart, however, from a number of running changes. An expanded range of running gear and improved driveability solved...

2015 Lincoln MKC

It's likely your typical younger, affluent car shopper in bigger East or West Coast cities—the kind the brand is targeting with the 2015 Lincoln MKC—probably doesn't know what the marque stands for. But the brand is skipping right over years of muddled messages, and soothing those waves of constant change with a rip tide of...

Samsung Galaxy S6 will reportedly have an Edge variant

According to a report in SamMobile, Samsung's next smartphone flagship will have an Edge variant with curved display. Unsurprisingly, the Korean giant's upcoming high-profile handset will be named Samsung Galaxy S6. A close relative to Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Note Edge is the first device by the company to carry a two-sided display. The next Galaxy S flagship surely looks like an appropriate candidate for such a variant. Samsung Galaxy S6 is internally known as Project Zero and will have the task to bring the good times back in the company. Recent reports revealed that Samsung Galaxy S5 sales trail behind those of its predecessor. Rumored specs of Samsung Galaxy S6 include QHD display, Exynos 7420/Snapdragon 810 chipset, and 16MP or 20MP camera. The handset will likely debut around MWC 2015. Source ...

2015 Acura TLX

Straddling two size categories and two realms of luxury and affordability, the Acura TLX is doing a lot of heavy lifting in the brand’s lineup. It replaces and combines attributes of both the former Acura TL and TSX, taking the strengths of each and rolling them into a remarkably impressive—if somewhat controversially...

2015 Chevrolet Corvette

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette builds on the new Stingray released for the 2014 model year with an expanded lineup that will include the Corvette Z06 supercar in both coupe and convertible forms. The standard Stingray continues on as well, bringing its own balance of value, performance, and style to the mix. Styling takes the Corvette in...

2015 Ram 1500

Competition is fierce among half-ton pickup trucks, yet the 2015 Ram 1500 remains one of our favorites. The Ram focuses on fuel economy, with eight-speed automatics available, a class-exclusive diesel engine, and plenty of aero tricks, but it doesn't forget comfort either, with coil springs at the rear, an available air-ride...

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Refinement and capability have always been Grand Cherokee hallmarks. As the model has evolved over the years, it has grown even more plush, all the while retaining most of its off-road prowess. Like just about any off-road-ready vehicle of its kind, it's not likely to actually leave pavement for long, but buyers pay few penalties for...

2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK Class

The Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class was redesigned recently, and last year it got a new efficient diesel four-cylinder option. The GLK continues into 2015 unchanged. What has changed, however, is that the GLK is no longer Benz's smallest sport-ute. With the addition of the CLA-based GLA-Class for 2015, the GLK loses its entry-level status...

2015 Cadillac CTS

The Cadillac CTS receives a short list of updates for 2015–including the addition of the new Cadillac crest to the grille–making this already excellent luxury sedan that much better. This year, it's only offered as a sedan, competing well against vehicles like the Jaguar XF, Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class. For...

2015 Dodge Journey

The Dodge Journey neatly splits the difference between a wagon and a more upright crossover or SUV. Though it flies mostly under the radar, the Journey has been steadily improving over the years and is now a competent crossover, offering seating for up to seven passengers. With smart packaging and a far nicer interior, plus better...

2015 Dodge Durango

The 2015 Dodge Durango isn't quite a crossover, nor is it strictly an off-road-ready SUV. It's built from the architecture that brought us the Mercedes GL-Class and M-Class, as well as Jeep's Grand Cherokee, so it's a utility vehicle with considerable rugged capabilities and exceptionally nice road manners. Top it off with grabby...

LG G Watch R review: A full circle

Smartwatches have been around for a long time now, ever so reluctantly trying to infuse the tech spirit into one of the oldest accessories in the history of the world - the time piece. But a wrist watch is meant for more than telling...

Samsung mobile chief retains job amid management shakeup

Just a few weeks after there were reports that Samsung Electronics is considering a major leadership shake-up in the wake of weak smartphone sales, the reshuffle turned out be smaller than expected, with all three co-CEOs retaining their current positions. It was earlier rumored that the company's co-chief executive and mobile head J.K. Shin could be moved out of his role and replaced by B.K. Yoon, another co-CEO who currently oversees the company's home-appliance and television business. One of the main reasons behind the small reshuffle is said to be the absence of Chairman Lee Kun-hee, who was hospitalized in May after a heart attack, as he typically plays an important role in key management decisions. However, D.J. Lee, who is the president and head of sales and marketing at the company's mobile unit, has taken the responsibility of the company's dismal performance in the smartphone market, and is leaving his current position. In addition, a couple more president-level executives at the mobile unit have also been reportedly released from their positions. Samsung recently posted its Q3 results, revealing that its quarterly net profit dropped by nearly 50 percent, as its mobile business continued to lose ground to low-cost Chinese smartphone makers like Xiaomi and Huawei. Samsung launching Tizen-based smartphone in India this month

Samsung is planning to launch a Tizen-based smartphone in India this month. Dubbed Z1, the device will reportedly be priced under $100 (INR6,000), and will be launched at a press conference on December 10. As the price indicates, Z1 will be a budget phone with features including 1.2 GHz processor, 4-inch 800x480 pixel display, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB internal memory (expandable by up to 32 GB via microSD card support) and 3.2 MP rear camera. There's also going to be dual SIM functionality, and integrated FM Radio. The news comes a few months after the Samsung Z, the South Korean company's first Tizen powered smartphone, was scrapped just a few days before its scheduled launch in Russia in July. Samsung said at the time that it wanted to further enhance the ecosystem behind Tizen. For those who are not in the know, Tizen is Samsung and Intel's co-developed operating system, and is apparently a part of Samsung's effort to reduce its dependency on Google's Android platform. Meizu K52 specs leak from GFX Bench

A Meizu device, codenamed K52 has recently popped up on the GFX Bench database. The Chinese manufacturer has been the target of a lot of rumors about a 1,000 Yuan (around $160) smartphone, but no such information has been confirmed. This new device might just be it. The specs show that it is powered by a MediaTek MT6752 octa-core CPU at 1.7 GHz, which is in fact a 64-bit chip with LTE support. This might not be as powerful as the MT6595 on board the Meizu MX4, but the architecture and fast connectivity are more than a pleasant surprise given the expected price tag. Other hardware in the device includes 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 4.6 inch Full HD 1920x1080 pixel display, powered by a Mali-T760 GPU. This data is very much unconfirmed and might be subject to a lot of changes down the road. GFX Bench reports the current OS of the gadget as Android 4.4.4 KitKat and holds no information about a camera as of yet. Two actual graphics benchmarks have also apparently been performed on the device, which we see posted on GFX Bench - Manhattan and T-Rex. The performance of the mystery device comes very close to the Oppo U3, but nowhere near the Meizu MX4 and MX4 Pro models. Meizu has stated in the past, that no CNY1,000 phone can be ideal, which of course we all know. However in today's highly competitive market the company is facing major pressure from rivals such as Xiaomi and can't afford to leave the lower price segments unattended. Source |...

Samsung's TouchWiz Themes show up again

Last week we saw that Samsung is working on a new theme engine for its TouchWiz Android UI and another three images have surfaced showing more of the same in a little more detail. The original source came from Italy and it seems the guys over there are the ones to beat - the latest images come from the Instagram feed of another Italian techie by the name of Antonio Monaco. Samsung TouchWiz Themes Themes allow users to change the appearance of the UI - background, wallpaper, icons, ringtones, fonts and colors - and are nothing new really. Sony has had a great theme engine for some time now and so do lots of makers. It's good to see Samsung hop on board as well. The images show the new Themes option in the homescreen edit section (the one after a press and hold on the homescreen) along with a settings menu entry and the themes pictured in better detail. The leak features the Samsung basic, the Natural, Craft, one we can't see and Sweet. As it turns out the theme support is already live on a number of Samsung smartphones over in China - Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5. So TouchWiz users can expect to see them outside of China soon. Source |...

Nokia Lumia 1020 successor to feature a 50MP sensor

The Nokia Lumia 1030, the successor of the Lumia 1020 cameraphone, was in our rumor section for quite a while. It was known as Lumia McLaren in the beginning, but later the Lumia 1030 name got accepted as almost official.

Microsoft confirms Denim update will bring Lumia Camera 5

Microsoft has officially confirmed that the Lumia Camera 5 application will be present in the next OTA update to hit Lumia 830, 930, 1520 and Icon. And before the comments go up in flames - Yes the Lumia 830 does already have the Denim Firmware, but not the Camera application with all the new imaging goodies and features. Those were all rumored to come with a recent separate app update, but that speculation was quickly cleared up after version 4.9.2.1, which is still the Lumia Camera Classic was delivered. The confusion was brought to an end by a recent Microsoft response to a frequent question that states: Lumia 830, 930, 1520 and Icon will automatically get the new Lumia Camera 5 application with the Lumia Denim software update. Lumia Camera Classic represents the existing camera (formerly known as Nokia Camera, now Lumia Camera 4). This application lets you revert back to the predecessor version. Go to Store to download and install. So for the time being it seems that a little more patience is required, while we eagerly wait for the next batch of firmwares to roll out. Source |...
