Google will launch a new Android One smartphone on July 14, according to an Economic Times report. The device, which will be manufactured by local company Lava, will carry a price tag of around INR 12,000 ($190). While Indian vendors weren't involved in the design and development of the first batch of Android One smartphones (shown in the image above), the latest handset has been developed in close collaboration with Lava and MediaTek, the report notes. Known specs of the device include MediaTek SoC, 2GB RAM, and 5-inch display. It's a known fact that the demand for Android One devices never really picked up in India.
