The vivo X300 Ultra will upgrade audio quality on all levels

The vivo X300 Ultra will bring a host of improvements compared to its predecessor, and while we've mostly focused on the photographic side of them, there's another side to it: audio. Vivo's Han Boxiao took to Weibo to tease some substantial improvements to the audio capture and audio reproduction of the upcoming global flagship. The first has to do with enhancements to how the phone uses its four available microphones. They'll combine spatial recording with noise reduction and AI smarts to isolate voices and enhance the sound recording. Below is a screenshot Boxiao shared from the...

vivo patents vertically rollable smartphone

Rollable smartphone concepts have come and gone in the past few years, but we've yet to see an actual product using a rollable display (there are, however, rollable-screen laptops already). While the rollable smartphone concepts we've seen thus far have all rolled the screen out of the side, vivo has patented something else entirely - a rollable screen that becomes longer, not wider. The vivo rollable device pictured in the patent application becomes taller as you roll out the screen, which is definitely interesting to see, yet we can't help but wonder what the actual use cases for...

MacBook Neo is surprisingly repairable

The brand-new MacBook Neo is projected to be a hit in terms of sales and could turn out to be one of Apple’s most important laptops in recent memory. While its main claim to fame is the relatively affordable $599 base price ($499 for students), the Neo is also Apple’s most repairable laptop in a long time. YouTuber Phone Repair Guru performed a teardown of the Neo, and the results are fascinating. Apple opted for an easily repairable design with key components like the battery, speakers, trackpad, USB ports and display held in place only with screws and connectors. Virtually...

The Honor X80 GT is now rumored to break all mainstream battery capacity records

While Apple, Google, and Samsung continue to keep their devices (at most) around the 5,000 mAh mark, Chinese brands are innovating fast based on Silicon Carbon technology. Honor was in fact rewarded for just this at MWC earlier this month, and the brand shows absolutely no signs of stopping. According to a new rumor out of China, the upcoming Honor X80 GT will come with a 13,080 mAh battery. The 'vanilla', non-GT X80 was previously rumored to sport a 10,000 mAh cell instead, going up to that amount from the X70's 8,300 mAh, which was still definitely commendable in itself. Honor Power...

Disney+ wants to be TikTok now, but for Disney+ content. So it's launching Verts, "a whole new way to discover stories" in a vertically-swiping format. This is "the first phase" of bringing vertical video content to Disney+, and it's (of course) a "dynamic feed" which is billed to help you quickly find your next favorite watch. You just need to tap the new Verts icon in the navigation bar on your phone, and you're inside the vertical video feed and "can swipe through a stream of scenes and moments from movies and shows on Disney+", which you can then seamlessly add to your Watchlist or...

Google Maps gets Gemini-powered Ask Maps and Immersive Navigation

Back in November, Google first brought Gemini into Maps, and today it's expanding the AI capabilities inside Maps with Ask Maps. Like the name implies, this lets you ask anything about any place in Google Maps, and Gemini will reply inside a "conversational experience". Google says Gemini can answer "complex, real-world questions a map could never answer before". You can literally ask for anything - a place to charge your phone, a public tennis court with lights are only two examples Google gives. Just tap the Ask Maps button and ask away. Gemini in Maps analyzes...

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra takes some damage but still survives drop test

One of the more under-the-radar changes with the Galaxy S26 Ultra coming from the S25 Ultra is the switch from a titanium frame to an aluminum one, which naturally raises some durability questions. Luckily, PBKreviews delivered his signature drop test video to showcase how Samsung’s latest top-tier flagship fares. Apart from the different frame material, the S26 Ultra features more rounded corners, and its camera island is more exposed than last year’s model. Infinix Note 60 Ultra in for review

Wow! We had to start this unboxing with an exclamation, because the Infinix Note 60 Ultra truly deserves it. There are so many phones named Ultra on the market nowadays, but very few among them justify the name quite like the Infinix Note 60 Ultra. Pininfarina is a big part of that. The Italian design firm popular for designing cars has been at it for nearly a century now, and it clearly isn't losing its touch. Something about this Torino Black Infinix Note 60 Ultra makes you stop and take notice! It all starts with the exorbitant unboxing experience. The phone ships in a large box...

Weekly poll results: the Galaxy S26 and S26 Ultra have a fighting chance, the S26+ is dead in the water

The Galaxy S25 series outsold the S24 series, which in turn had outpaced the S23 series a year prior. In short, everything was going great for the S-series. But will this year end its winning streak? Last week’s poll certainly casts shadows of doubt over the success of the new trio. The Samsung Galaxy S26 family Let’s start with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is arguably the model that received the most upgrades. Most of the people who voted in the poll just don’t see it as one of the best flagships on the market. And among those interested in S Ultra phones, most find older...

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold's gets a 71% battery boost with Honor's Si/C battery mod

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold last December with a 5,600 mAh battery, which is not only lower than that of non-folding smartphones but also lower than that of foldables, as we have seen folding smartphones with battery capacities in the 6,000 mAh range. How's that possible? The answer is Si/C batteries, which Samsung continues to avoid even in 2026. [#InlinePriceWidget,14292,1#] Honor's recently unveiled Magic V6 foldable comes with a 6,600 mAh Si/C battery, and the folks at YouTube channel Strange Parts used Honor's Si/C batteries to increase the Galaxy Z TriFold's battery...

This can’t be a coincidence – Apple picked the week of the MWC to drop a number of major announcements. And since most of the developments from the MWC are unlikely to come to the US, let’s look at what Apple has to offer. The new iPhone 17e fixes several major annoyances of the 16e – it has proper MagSafe support now, you get good base storage (256GB), the improved Ceramic Shield 2 has an anti-reflective coating and the chipset was bumped up to an Apple A19. That’s a lot of power for $600! Okay, the 6.1” 60Hz display with a chunky notch isn’t ideal and neither is the single 48MP camera...
