Just a few months after laying off a whopping 7,800 people, Microsoft has quietly cut another 1,000 jobs, which is approximately 1% of the Redmond, Washington-based company's total global work force. The fresh round of layoffs came after the software giant announced its Q3 2015 earnings, revealing a 54% year-on-year decline in the revenue of its phone business, although the results were better-than-expected overall. "The job reductions were spread across more than one business area and country and reflect adaptations to business needs," a company spokesman told The New York Times. While the earlier layoffs mostly affected the company's phone's unit, the latest job cuts are said to affect the financial and legal departments, although there is no official confirmation on the same.
