Galaxy S24 FE support page goes up on Samsung France, launch should be close

Back in April, UK carrier EE listed a “Samsung Galaxy S24 FE” with a model number SM-S721U. Now Samsung France has a support page for an SM-S721B, so the new FE is definitely on the way. Normally, “U” is for the US, while “B” is for European units (including the ones sold in the UK), so the EE listing was probably a mistake. Anyway, we’ve also seen the SM-S721B model number in a Geekbench test, which revealed that the phone uses an Exynos 2400 with 8GB of RAM. This is the same chipset that is found inside European (and other) Galaxy S24 and S24+ units. Last year’s Galaxy S23 FE used...

vivo V40 and V40 Pro debut with big batteries in ultra-thin bodies

The vivo V40 and vivo V40 Pro went official today, bringing substantial battery capacity upgrades while retaining their ultra-thin bodies. New camera setups and design are also part of the package. The vivo V40 inherited the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 from the vivo V30, while the vivo V40 Pro made a big leap forward and now has a Dimensity 9200+ chip, which is a lot more powerful than the Dimensity 8200 that powered the previous three vivo V Pro phones. The V40 and V40 Pro share the same dimensions (164.2 x 74.9 x 7.58 mm) and have the same display - a 6.78” AMOLED with up to 120 Hz...

The vivo V40 and vivo V40 Pro are getting announced today at an event in India. The launch party begins at 12 PM IST, which is 06:30 UTC or 09:30 EEST, and there will be a live stream to watch the unveiling. The phones share a new design of the camera island with the vivo S19 and vivo S19 Pro, but we know both the V40 and V40 Pro will have shooters that are co-developed with ZEISS. The company also confirmed a new 5,500 mAh battery, which is a huge upgrade over the vivo V30 lineup. We are wondering whether vivo was able to develop other meaningful hardware updates over the past six...

Realme to unveil 300W wired charging technology soon

The wired charging war has definitely subsided recently, but it hasn't outright stopped. According to a new rumor out of China, Realme is getting ready to introduce its very own 300W wired charging solution for smartphones. We say "its very own" because this won't be the first 300W system shown by a Chinese device maker - in fact, Redmi announced its take on the matter all the way back in February of 2023. When that came around, it was claimed it would fill up a 4,100 mAh battery from zero to full in under five minutes. More than a year has passed since that presentation and there...

Google announces new Assistant voices, Gemini-powered improvements for Google Home

Earlier today, Google announced the successor to the awkwardly named Chromecast with Google TV - the somewhat less awkwardly named Google TV Streamer. Alongside this, the company also unveiled that Google Home is getting Geminified in the near future, because of course it is. Gemini will be used to analyze your Nest's camera feed and, "over time" (whatever that means) it will go from "understanding" a narrow set of specific things like motion, people, and packages, to being able to "more broadly understand what it sees and hears, and then surface what's most important". ...

US Court finds Google guilty of search engine monopoly in historical antitrust case

Google illegally monopolized the search engine market, ruled Judge Amit P. Mehta of the US District Court for the District of Columbia. According to a 286-page ruling, the company paid $26 billion to smartphone and web browser owners to make its search engine the default option, preventing competitors from gaining a foothold in the market. Mehta also ruled that Google does not have a monopoly in the market for search engine advertising, noting that Amazon and Walmart have begun offering advertising related to searches on their own websites. However, Google does have a monopoly over search...

Samsung's Galaxy AI will reach the Galaxy A55 and A35, report says

Samsung has rolled out its Galaxy AI feature suite to its high-end smartphone lines, and now it's apparently getting ready for the next logical step: bringing Galaxy AI to its mid-rangers. According to a new report today, the Galaxy A55 and A35 will unsurprisingly be the first ones to receive Galaxy AI, as part of their One UI 6.1.1 update. The report doesn't tell us exactly when we should expect this to happen, but provides a vague timeline of "this month or the next". A word of caution, however: not every Galaxy AI feature will be made available on these mid-rangers. And...

OnePlus Ace 5 to bring Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

OnePlus recently launched Ace 3 Pro and reportedly is already looking ahead to the Ace 5 series. According to leakster Digital Chat Station, the new phone will inherit a lot of specs from the previous Ace, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and 100W wired charging. One major change we expect to see is the arrival of a bigger Silicone-Carbon battery. It will consist of two 3,000 mAh cells, totaling a minimal charge of 6,000 mAh (likely around 6,100 mAh typical). OnePlus 12 OnePlus is skipping the number 4 in the Ace's name because of superstition, so we are jumping straight...

Huawei Freebuds 6i review

Huawei introduced the Freebuds 6i alongside the Watch Fit 3 and the global launch of two Matebook laptops. The TWS earphones promised improved battery life and enhanced noise cancellation, and now that we've spent a few weeks with them we can share out impressions. We had the Freebuds 6i in Black, but they are also available in Purple and White. The case is matte, while the buds are glossy, similar to their predecessor, the Freebuds 5i. The two generations have many visual similarities, and only a keen eye can tell them apart. Despite the glossy finish, the buds are pretty...

Creative Zen Air SXFI in for review

This is the Creative Zen Air SXFI and its name is a mouthful. What it means is that it's Creative's light buds series, and they come with Creative's take on spatial audio - SXFI. The Zen Air comes with three sizes of silicone tips, a nice carrying pouch, and a USB-A to USB-C cable. So what is SXFI? It's short for Super X-Fi technology, which Creative says recreates a multi-speaker system's depth, detail, and soundstage by using computational audio. You can download the SXFI app to create a spatial audio profile specifically for yourself and then use it through the Creative...

New report confirms two foldable Apple devices in 2026

We've been hearing plenty of rumors lately about Apple's upcoming foldable devices. We know that the company is working on a flip-style foldable iPhone and an iPad/MacBook hybrid with an 18.8-inch screen when unfolded. The latest report from analyst Jeff Pu suggests the iPad/MacBook hybrid will be the first to see broad daylight, likely in the second quarter of 2026. The foldable iPhone is due at the end of 2026. It's not too far-fetched to assume it will be announced alongside the iPhone 17 series, but the actual market release will commence toward the end of 2026. Unfortunately,...

Sony PlayStation Portal launched in India

Sony has finally launched the PlayStation Portal in India, about nine months after its launch in the US. If you think that's late, it's pretty much par for the course for Sony India as it always launches all PlayStation products late in the region. The PlayStation Portal is a handheld remote player for the PlayStation 5 console. It lets you wirelessly stream your installed PS5 and PS4 games from your console over your home Wi-Fi network onto the device. You can, for example, be in your bedroom and playing on your PS5 that's in the living room through the Portal, while someone else is...

iPhone 17 series again rumored to sport 24MP selfie camera

Apple hasn't even launched the iPhone 16 series yet, but we've already heard quite a few things about the iPhone 17 lineup, which will likely be unveiled next September. One rumor is that all iPhone 17 models will feature a 24MP selfie camera, which analyst Jeff Pu now corroborates. Pu shared a chart in a research note for investment bank Haitong, which indicated that all the iPhone 17 models will have a 24MP front-facing camera with a 6P lens. In January, popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also claimed that the iPhone 17 series would feature a 24MP selfie camera. The iPhone 17 lineup...

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max battery capacities leak

Apple is launching the iPhone 16 family in September, and today a new rumor from China claims to give us the exact battery capacities for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The former is said to come with a 3,577 mAh cell, which would be over 9% larger than the iPhone 15 Pro's 3,274 mAh one. The iPhone 16 Pro Max's battery is pegged at 4,676 mAh, up more than 5% compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max's 4,441 mAh cell. These aren't huge increases, of course, but it's still good to see Apple constantly improving in this regard. Even these small increases in physical capacity, when...

Google Pixel 9 series' launch offers and discounts leak

In this week's umpteenth Pixel leak, we now have word about what you can expect from Google in terms of introductory offers and deals for the upcoming roster of devices that are getting announced on August 13. Keep in mind that this is valid for France, Google might have (very) different things to offer in other countries, but we assume the rest of the EU will get something similar. So, without further ado - you'll get 256GB of storage at the price of 128GB, until September 5. If you trade-in an old device, you'll also receive a bonus of €150 towards the Pixel 9 and €200 towards the...

Google Pixel Watch 3 pricing leaks

Google's Pixel Watch 3 is becoming official on August 13, and for the first time in the series it will come in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm. Today the pricing for all versions has been leaked. The 41mm Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Pixel Watch 3 will be $349, while the 45mm option will go for $399. If you want LTE connectivity as well, you'll need to pay $449 for the 41mm model and $499 for the 45mm variant. The Pixel Watch 2 launched in 41mm only at the same $349 price for the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi version, but the LTE model was $399, $50 less than the Pixel Watch 3 will be. The smaller Pixel...

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra in for review

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra arrived in the office in no less than three separate boxes! The watch has its own box, the "S/M/L" band has its own box, and they're in a bigger box. You get a USB-C to wireless charging puck with the watch as well. The big story with the Galaxy Watch Ultra is how much it looks like Apple's own Watch Ultra 2, but if you look past the similar buttons and the orange accents and strap color, it's a very different device. For starters, it has a square case with a circular bezel and screen inside, whereas the Apple Watch Ultra is more of a rectangle,...

Realme 13 pops up on TENAA with full specs and photos

Realme 13 was certified on TENAA just days after the unveiling of the 13 Pro and 13 Pro+. The phone is expected to be a more affordable version with a less powerful chipset and not so much AI in the interface. Realme 13 The chip is only listed with an octa-core CPU of 2.2 GHz, meaning it could be any Snapdragon 6 series platform, but we believe it could inherit the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 from the Realme 12 Pro. The Realme 13's display is a 6.72” LCD with Full HD+ resolution and a punch hole for the 16 MP selfie camera. The island on the back suggests three shooters, but the...

Here's the iPhone 16 Pro Max in three colors

Less than 48 hours ago five dummy iPhone 16 units posed for a group shot revealing some of the colors we should expect. And that was, without a doubt, a very colorful affair. Today we have basically the same leak but for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, except in this case all the colors are gone and we're left with white, black, and gray. Take a look: The Pro iPhones are definitely going to be way less playful, color-wise, than the non-Pro ones. Boring isn't a bad word to describe these hues, but the redemption will come from the rumored fourth one, not pictured here: Rose. As for what we...
