Deals: Galaxy Z Flip7 price hits new low, Pixel 10 series is €100+ off, Realme GT 7 also discounted

If you buy a flagship on launch day, you get perks like more memory or freebies, but if you wait, you get discounts instead. And you don’t necessarily need a flagship either, not when premium mid-rangers are this good. Let’s look at both options. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 price has hit a new low – it’s now under €800. This puts it between the vanilla Galaxy S25 and the S25+. The flip foldable offers a new form factor experience, unlike the S-phones, which haven’t changed much in the last few years. The Z Flip7 has a 4.1” cover and a 6.9” inner display plus a 50+12MP dual camera on the...

Ayaneo is teasing "a mobile phone truly made for gamers"

Ayaneo is branching out from handheld consoles and mini PCs into the very crowded realm of smartphones. And, of course, it's aiming its smartphone adventure at gamers. The company has started teasing its first handset, which it bills as "a mobile phone truly made for gamers". In the quick video teaser below, we can see the outline of its rear, which appears to house two camera sensors that are flush with the back cover, without any protrusions, RedMagic-style. Aside from that, there's not really much to go on here. "Real gamers know gamers", Ayaneo says, and that's surely true but...

Oppo Find N6 specs leak, it will be thinner and lighter than a non-folding Ultra

The Oppo Find N5 launched back in February, and now Oppo is hard at work on its successor, which we assume will be called Find N6. Today in China some fresh details about the upcoming device have been outed. The Find N6 is said to have an 8.1" folding screen and a 6.6" cover display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC at the helm, and a battery capacity that should be around 6,000 mAh. Oppo Find N5 On the rear will be a 50MP main camera using Sony's Lytia LYT-808 1/1.4" type sensor, as well as a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The fingerprint sensor is still...

WhatsApp now supports passkey-encrypted backups

Today WhatsApp has announced that it's started supporting passkey-encrypted backups. What this means in practice is that you can use your fingerprint, face, or screen lock code to encrypt your WhatsApp chat backups, instead of having to resort to memorizing a password or a "cumbersome 64-digit encryption key", WhatsApp says. The company goes on to explain that "with just a tap or glance, the same security that protects your personal chats and calls on WhatsApp is applied to your chat backups", so they are always "safe, accessible, and private". The feature is expected to roll out...

Apple iPad Pro (2025) teardown reveals just how hard it is to get inside

Apple unveiled the M5-powered iPad Pro earlier this month, and now the folks over at iFixit have disassembled one in order to take a look at its insides and ascertain how repairable it actually is. It's the 13" model, by the way, which is just 5.1mm thick. That thinness in itself makes repairs harder, since every component needs to be insanely tightly packed, with the screen mounted flush against the internals. And the only way to get in is through the screen, unfortunately. Obviously, taking the screen off without cracking it isn't easy to do, but at least Apple is providing repair...

US and China reach tariff agreement

Tariffs have been a major topic in the tech world this year, with the ongoing US-China trade war, but it seems we’ve reached a turning point. President Trump came to an agreement with Xi Jinping to reduce tariffs on Chinese goods from 57% to 47%. In addition, China is suspending its restrictions on US rare-earth mineral imports for one year. This latest development is a breath of fresh air as the Trump administration’s tariffs on Chinese goods reached 145 % at their peak earlier this year. This is certainly good news for Apple, which was one of the companies that suffered the most from...

Google Gemini for Home is now rolling out

At the beginning of this month, Google unveiled Gemini for Home, alongside a bunch of devices for the home. Today, Gemini for Home has started rolling out in the US, but there's a catch. Gemini for Home is currently in early access mode, and if you want to be among the first people in the US to be able to test it, you need to request access. To do this, go to Google Groups settings > Global Settings, and make sure "Add me to their groups" is checked. Then go to the Google Home app, tap your profile picture or initials, and select Home settings. That's where the "early access" option...

YouTube starts AI upscaling videos

Today YouTube has announced that it will start automatically AI upscaling low quality videos that are under 1080p resolution. This will initially upscale from SD to HD, but eventually will go all the way up to 4K "in the near future". It's intended for use on TVs only, at least for now, and whenever it's employed you'll see a "Super resolution" descriptor underneath each resolution option, as portrayed in the video below. Creators will be able to opt out of this if they want to. YouTube is also expanding the thumbnail file limit from 2MB to 50MB, so expect "new, stunning...

Samsung may have delayed the One UI 8.5 beta program, here's why

Samsung is now rumored to have delayed the start of the beta program for its upcoming One UI 8.5 Android skin . This is what the Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch running. Samsung should have released the first beta build of One UI 8.5 in November. However, this is now very unlikely to happen, a tipster on X says. The rollout is delayed, and it's all connected to the Galaxy S26+. This model was initially scrapped by Samsung, only to be brought back to life recently in the face of the Galaxy S25 Edge's dismal sales (the S26 Edge was supposedly replacing the S26+, but now the S26 Edge...

It's a newer BOE X3 panel. The bezels are an even, smaller 1.15mm on all...

A vapor chamber should help the Pro tablets perform much better while being more efficient, especially when running resource-intensive tasks. Kuo: Apple is scaling back iPhone Air production capacity

Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has joined a growing stream of analysts reporting that Apple is scaling back iPhone Air orders. Per Kuo, Apple is scaling back both shipments and production capacity. Most suppliers will reduce capacity by more than 80% by Q1 of 2026, and some components with longer lead times will be outright discontinued by the end of 2025. It seems that, like the iPhone mini and iPhone Plus models, the Air was unable to gain significant traction. But this doesn't mean that the iPhone Air has failed. Apple's iPhone Pro models usually outpace all other models...

iQOO 15 Ultra is coming with a focus on gaming and productivity

The iQOO 15 was announced in China yesterday, and it's expected to make it to global markets next month. But, interestingly, the brand is working on another device that will be part of the series. We're calling this iQOO 15 Ultra for simplicity's sake, but the name hasn't been confirmed. It will have a suffix, though, that much is clear, so we assume it's between Pro and Ultra. Samsung hasn't revealed why it's taken this step either. There don't seem to be any widespread reports of big issues from people that have installed the update. That said,...

Xiaomi 17 Pro Max in for review

The iPhone 17 Pro Max had just about 1 month of being able to call itself the best Pro Max around! The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max may be a corny namestealer, but it's about as serious on the specs front as you can get. What immediately grabs the attention is the rear screen, so let's talk about it. It's absolutely top notch - a 120 Hz LTPO OLED panel with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. On the software side, the rear screen isn't very useful. It technically supports third-party apps, but only Chinese ones are allowed for now. Hardly surprising, since the phone is only available in China and...

The Honor Robot Phone features a moving gimbal camera that pops out the back of the phone and resembles a robot head. It can apparently understand what it...

The best deals for Apple iPhone 17 and Air cases in the US

If you are looking to buy one of the new iPhones (or you already got one), you can’t have missed reports that the two Pro models are prone to scratching – apparently, it has something to do with how their aluminum chassis was anodized. And while the vanilla iPhone 17 is harder to scratch, it’s not immune either. The iPhone Air turned out to be pretty tough (it’s the only new model to use titanium), you still may want to protect your investment. That means picking out a case for your new iPhone – we picked out some of the highest rated options and listed them below. Note that most of these...
