Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra stars in another teardown video and has a surprise inside

A few days ago the first teardown video of the new Galaxy S25 Ultra went live, and today we have another one. This time it's Zack Nelson from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel doing the deed, and finding an interesting tidbit in the process. The internet has been in a tizzy about the removal of Bluetooth functionality from the S25 Ultra's S Pen, even though most people who are decrying it probably have never used it. Samsung, we assume, knows that, which is why it chose to go with this obvious cost-cutting measure in its most expensive slab-style device, betting that normal people who...

Asus ROG Phone 9 FE is here with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset

The Asus ROG Phone 9 family has just grown today, as the ROG Phone 9 FE is now official. It was quietly launched by the brand in Thailand, where it's available to purchase for THB 29,990, which at the current exchange rates translates into $890 or €857. For that amount of cash, you're getting a single Phantom Black colorway. The device measures 163.8 x 76.8 x 8.9 mm and weighs 225g. The dimensions are identical to those of the ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro, but the FE is 2g lighter. The ROG Phone 9 FE is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM...

Galaxy S25 Ultra replacement S Pens are $49 a pop despite lacking Bluetooth

Samsung infamously removed Bluetooth capabilities from Galaxy S25 Ultra’s S Pen. The official reasoning is that only 1% of S24 Ultra users were using the Bluetooth-related features on their phones but a lot of long-time Ultra and formerly Galaxy Note users are not too happy with the change. Galaxy S25 Ultra S Pen on Samsung US Samsung has now listed the official Galaxy S25 Ultra S Pen on its online store and it costs $49 – exactly the same price as the Galaxy S24 Ultra S Pen which features Bluetooth functionality and a gyroscope sensor. The Bluetooth-enabled S Pens of the past...

Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera specs 'confirmed' by new rumor

Xiaomi's 15 Ultra will be very much focused on the cameras, pun absolutely intended. Today a new rumor from a tipster on X reiterates the device's camera setup, which we've already heard of before. Still, this 'confirmation' of sorts does help cement the idea that the phone will really ship with these cameras. So, let's take a look. The 50 MP main shooter will be using Sony's 1-inch type Lytia LYT-900 sensor. The 50 MP ultrawide will use Samsung's ISOCELL JN5 sensor. The 50 MP 3x optical zoom telephoto camera will use Sony's IMX858 sensor, and finally, the main upgrade - the 200 MP 4.3x...

Realme starts teasing the P3 series

Following a bunch of leaks and rumors, Realme has officially started teasing the upcoming P3 series. Well, it's actually Flipkart doing the teasing through a dedicated microsite for the family, but we assume this is done with Realme's blessing. The teaser isn't saying much at the moment, just confirming that a P3 series is coming, and that the Realme P3 Pro will be one of the members. The P3 devices are allegedly "born to slay" and at least the P3 Pro will come with "BGMI Tournament-Certified Performance", stable frame rate, high frame rate support, optimized device temperature, stable...

iQOO Neo 10R's launch date leaks

Earlier today we brought you official images of the upcoming iQOO Neo 10R, shared by the brand itself. iQOO hasn't yet revealed when the phone is going to be launched, but a new leak tells us just that. Apparently, the launch date is February 20 in India. The phone is very likely to be a rebranded iQOO Z9 Turbo Endurance Edition, which comes with a 6.78-inch 1260x2800 AMOLED touchscreen with 144 Hz refresh rate, a dual rear camera system (50 MP main with OIS, 8 MP ultrawide), a 16 MP selfie snapper, and a 6,400 mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging. iQOO Z9 Turbo Endurance...

Apple Music is now $2.99 for six months for new subscribers

Apple Music has a pretty awesome deal for those who want to try it out. You can now get six months of service for just $2.99. That's not $2.99 per month, by the way, it's $2.99 in total for the first six months. You just need to be a new subscriber, and eligible, though it's unclear what the eligibility criteria might be. It's pretty likely that this offer is, at least currently, limited to the US. We've previously seen Tidal come up with similar offers in other countries, where you'd pay a very small amount for at least two months of service. Anyway, if you've always wanted to try...

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to borrow this feature from the Galaxy Z Fold line

Samsung has just started shipping the Galaxy S25 devices, and we're already turning our attention to the next generation - specifically, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This is already in the early prototyping stage, and said prototypes are missing a visible selfie camera cutout in their displays. This, according to a tipster over on X, means that Samsung wants to go with an under-display camera for its next slab-style flagship smartphone. The Korean company is already using such a unit in its Galaxy Z Fold line for the folding display, but we do hope that the quality will be immensely improved for...

Samsung tri-fold could be called Galaxy G Fold

Samsung teased a tri-fold smartphone at last month's Unpacked event, and today, we may have discovered what the device will be called. Information from Korea revealed the name Samsung Galaxy G Fold; it will feature a tri-fold design, similar to the Mate XT, along with a brand-new 10-inch screen. The new G Fold should weigh the same as the Huawei device, which is just under 300 grams. However, the Samsung device will not be as thin as its Chinese counterpart, which is 3.6 mm in a fully unfolded state. The foldable panel and touchscreen represent fresh innovations not previously seen...

Gurman: Apple to launch an event-planning service called Confetti

Apple will introduce a new iCloud service designed for events and invitations. This service will differ from Calendar and is set to launch “this coming week," as reported by Mark Gurman in his latest weekly podcast "On Demand" for Bloomberg. The service would be called "Confetti" and will be a "new way to invite people to parties, functions, and meetings." The arrival of the service is tied to the iOS 18.3 launch, which started rolling out last week, in the final days of January. The new invites service was already spotted by 9to5Mac in the OS beta code, and it seems like there...

Top 10 trending phones of week 5

As we wave January goodbye the Galaxy S25 series' grip on our trending chart is only slightly loosened. The Ultra member of the new flagship trio is still the most popular phone in our database by a landslide, but the vanilla in second is falling back into the pack. [#InlinePriceWidget, 13322, 1#] The Galaxy A55 even managed to climb back onto the final podium spot, overtaking the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge in fourth and the Galaxy S24 Ultra in fifth. So all things considered, another impressive showing by Samsung, taking the entire top 5. The Poco X7 Pro and Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max...

Is Samsung thinking of ditching the S Pen in future Galaxy S Ultras?

Samsung is the king of the smartphone stylus - not only does it have the most models that support one, but the S Pen is deeply integrated into its Galaxies. And it's nowhere better than in the Galaxy S Ultra flagships. That's because the Galaxy S22 Ultra was the spiritual successor to the last Galaxy Note, essentially merging the Note and S Ultra lineups together. But Samsung removed the Bluetooth and gyroscope from the S Pen for the Galaxy S25 Ultra - features it added in 2018 - which signals that the S Pen may be on its way out. Citing its own survey, Samsung says that only 1% of...

Weekly poll: are you using the S Pen's remote control functions?

The S Pen was first introduced in 2011 with the original Galaxy Note – this original design was a passive device that relied on a Wacom layer in the Note device itself to track its position and, later on, things like pressure too. Then in 2018 the Galaxy Note9 added a battery and Bluetooth connectivity to the S Pen, allowing it to trigger actions remotely. In the camera, for example, a single press would take a photo, a double press would switch between cameras. You could also advance photos in the Gallery app, go to the next slide in PowerPoint, control music players and so on, all with...

Weekly poll results: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may be in trouble, vanilla S25 could be a hit

The pre-order window for the new Samsung Galaxy S25 flagship trio is closing and the first units are on their way to their new owners – if they haven’t arrived already. But will Samsung start 2025 with strong sales like it did 2024? The results from last week’s poll show cause for concern – the new models are perceived as only minor upgrades over previous generations of S-phones, so many are considering not upgrading this year or seeking out an older model. There is some good news too, though not what we expected. The Galaxy S24 Ultra outsold the S23 Ultra and was the most popular model...

Asus NUC 14 Pro AI mini PC review

The Asus NUC 14 Pro AI is the latest mini PC from the Taiwanese brand. This particular model was announced in December of last year and was the first mini PC to feature Intel's new Core Ultra processors (Series 2) along with Microsoft Copilot+. The model we have here today is the flagship variant with the Intel Core Ultra 9 288V with 32GB of LPDDR5X memory. Asus sells this device as a barebones PC, meaning it does not include storage out of the box but our unit did come with 1TB SSD included for testing. Before going further into the testing, it's worth noting the price. It's a...

Samsung Galaxy S25 in for review

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is easily the go-to compact Android phone to get. Yes, you can find small phones with better camera systems - Xiaomi's 15 and vivo's X200 Pro mini come to mind - but those aren't as readily available and we'd argue that they won't be to everyone's liking. After years of dominating the smartphone market, Samsung feels comfortable to users, an advantage it shares only with the iPhone, which will make the Galaxy S25 an easy choice for the person looking for a new compact Android flagship. There are no surprises in the retail package. The Galaxy S25 ships with a...

Samsung's Exynos 2500 chip to debut in the second half of 2025

With the Samsung Galaxy S25 series out and about without any trace of Exynos 2500, some were quick to assume that we won't be getting an Exynos-powered Samsung flagship this year. However, a confirmation that the company is working on the chipset comes from an unlikely place - Samsung's earnings report. In an earnings call aimed at investors, the Samsung System LSI department shared some info regarding the Exynos 2500. The report says the Korean tech giant is working on refining the flagship SoC and wants to "secure design wins for mobile models scheduled for release in H2...

Samsung Galaxy A36 and A56 repairability scores emerge ahead of launch

The yet to be released Samsung Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 appeared in a set of French repairability indices posted by Samsung France. This development is similar to last year when the predecessors for both phones were also listed by Samsung France ahead of their launch. Galaxy A36 repairability score Unsurprisingly, both phones earned similar repairability scores of 8.4/10. The score for the Galaxy A36 is identical to its predecessor, while the upcoming Galaxy A56 gets a 0.1-point reduction in its final score compared to the Galaxy A55. The accompanying table suggests that some...

Realme GT 7 Pro gets a new software update

Realme has released a new software update for the GT 7 Pro. The update has firmware version RMX5011_15.0.0.200(EX01) and requires a download of 1.35GB. Despite that download size, the update doesn't bring any new features to the smartphone. You only get system improvements and bug fixes for known issues. It's also worth mentioning that this update is seeding for the Realme GT 7 Pro, having model code RMX5011. If you own one and haven't received an update notification yet, you can check for the update manually by navigating to the phone's Settings > System & updates > Software update...

Honor Pad X9a is on the way, certification reveals

Honor is working on a successor to the low-end Pad X8a which it launched back in August. This will unsurprisingly be the Honor Pad X9a, and it will be offered in the UAE as it's just been certified for sale over there by TDRA. Of course, the device is likely to be available in many more international markets. TDRA also certified the upcoming Honor Pad V9 recently. The X9a that passed through the TDRA's process was Wi-Fi-only and had the model number ELN2-W29. Unfortunately, there are no spec details revealed by the certification. Still, you shouldn't expect this to be a high-end...

Galaxy Z Fold7 to have Snapdragon worldwide, RAM/storage versions also leak for the Flip7

A couple of days ago a rumor tipped the pricing for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7, and spoiler alert - it will be the same as for their predecessors. Whether that's good news or bad news depends on your perspective, of course - on one hand, price hikes have been looming a lot in recent years with all the inflation, on the other hand, we've been promised cheaper foldables and that's never happened. Today the same source brings us the rumored memory and storage versions for Samsung's next foldable duo, along with an intriguing detail regarding the Fold7: this will...

vivo T4x 5G and Y59 5G are on their way

vivo is working on two new smartphones for the Indian market, the T4x 5G and the Y59 5G. Both of these have been certified for sale in India by BIS, the former with the model number V2437 and the latter with the model number V2443. With the BIS certification in tow, the launch of both devices is expected to happen in the next few weeks. Unfortunately, the certification doesn't reveal any details about them. While we don't have any more information about these, for context do note that the T3x started at INR 13,499 when it launched in April of last year. It came with a 6.72-inch...

Today a new leak gives us the exact release date, along with the date on which Google will start taking pre-orders for its next affordable Pixel smartphone. So, pre-orders will allegedly start on March 19, and the phone will start shipping on March 26 - which is also when it will become available in stores. Google Pixel 9a leaked image As revealed a few days ago, the Pixel 9a will cost the same $499 as the Pixel 8a in the base version with...

Nothing Phone (3a) hands-on image leaks along with details about the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro

Nothing is launching something on March 4, the company recently announced. Well, two somethings if we go by today's leaks: the Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro. The Plus is gone after just one generation, it seems. The Nothing Phone (3a) is purportedly pictured below in a heavy-duty case that's meant to protect its design from prying eyes. It can't, however, hide the fact that this will be the first Nothing handset with three rear cameras. According to another rumor from yesterday, it has a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3...

India won't get the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra

Poco's top-tier F series is due for a refresh this year, and it will, for the first time, be made up of three devices - the F7, the F7 Pro, and the F7 Ultra. However, if you're in India, unfortunately you'll only be getting the 'standard' model, according to a new rumor from a tipster on X. It's unclear why this is set to happen, but there might be a silver lining - a 'special edition' F7 that will be coming to India at some point in the future. Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro Smartphone brands playing such geographical availability games is nothing new of course, but this is taking things...

Samsung Galaxy S25 phones are the first to support some new Qi charging features

The new Samsung Galaxy S25 family doesn't impress with many meaningful upgrades, but even the little ones are welcome, such as the Qi 2.1 wireless charging support. As the version number implies, the changes are incremental. There's also no boost in wireless charging speed—the S25 Ultra goes up to 25W, while the other two are capped at 15W. It's the same as before. The most meaningful change is the support for magnetic wireless charging accessories. Another neat new feature is the added Automatic Alignment Profile (AAP) Power Transmitters. This feature is mainly car-centric, as...

Google Pixel 9a will be more expensive than its predecessor in one version

Google's Pixel 9a should arrive in mid-March, and ahead of that we now have a leak that gives us detailed pricing for both versions of the device. There is, as the saying goes, some good news and some bad news. Let's start with the good. The entry-level model with 128GB of storage will cost $499, just like the Pixel 8a did last year. And now the bad news. The 256GB version will be $599, which is $40 more expensive than what the Pixel 8a's 256GB variant launched at. The new pricing structure is in line with what Google started doing with the launch of the Pixel 9 family in August,...

Apple is working on a visionOS version for smart glasses

Apple's Vision Pro headset has been a flop, according to the latest report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. One reason is its price, unsurprisingly, the other one being "its cumbersome design". So Apple is now looking at the future and the next big thing, and apparently smart glasses are it. Thus, the company is said to be currently working on a version of visionOS that's meant for smart glasses. It makes sense to use the same OS that powers the Vision Pro, but the bad news is that Apple smart glasses are apparently still three years away, or even more. Apple allegedly wanted to...

Meta AI chatbot gets better at remembering things you said, and is more personal

Meta has an AI chatbot called - you're not going to believe this - Meta AI. And it's getting smarter. Meta has announced that the chatbot has received a memory boost, meaning it can now remember more details you share with it in one-on-one WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger chats. Its memory is said to "help it personalize future responses so they're more useful and relevant to you". You can tell it to remember things about you (what you like to do, for example), and it also picks up on important details based on context. Say you ask for breakfast suggestions, and it gives you something with...

Top 10 trending phones of week 4

There will be no prizes for guessing which series dominates our trending chart this week. With the Galaxy S25 Ultra rising to the top a few years ago and the Galaxy Unpacked dominating the headlines over the past seven days everyone is busy studying the new Samsung lineup. The Ultra ended up on top, followed by the vanilla Galaxy S25 in second. And if you thought the S25+ made it a clean podium sweep you were wrong - rather it was last year's S24 Ultra in third. [#InlinePriceWidget, 13322, 1#] In fact, the Galaxy S25 Edge, which was only teased, also got more attention than the...

WhatsApp for iPhone could soon get multi-account support

WhatsApp rolled out multi-account support for Android users in October 2023, allowing people to simultaneously use two different WhatsApp accounts on the same smartphone, eliminating the need to use the app clone feature or rely on the WhatsApp Business app trick. This feature is unavailable for iPhone users, but that should change soon. The folks at WABetaInfo report that WhatsApp is testing multi-account support for iPhone, which should allow iPhone users to use WhatsApp on their phones with two different numbers at the same time. The feature should work on iPhones similarly to Android...

Samsung Galaxy S25 series hot take

Samsung's first Unpacked of the year is arguably its most important event yet. It set the tone for much of the smartphone market in the first half of 2025 and introduces Samsung's flagship for the year, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Galaxy S25 and S25+ tagged along, which is probably the highest praise we could give them. Oh, and Samsung teased a Galaxy S25 Edge and while it's featuring around four edges, it has little to do with its legendary namesakes. So without further ado, here's our hot take on the series. One UI 7 is great, AI finally looks appealing The first half hour of...

Samsung hints that an optical blood glucose sensor might be closer than we think

Non-invasive blood glucose measurement is one of the so-called “holy grails” of modern health tracking. Samsung just recently held the Galaxy Tech Forum in San Jose, California. During the conference, Samsung’s Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team at Mobile eXperience Business, Dr. Hon Pak, elaborated on the company’s work on the hard task. What I’m really excited about is our team, as you may have assumed, we are working on a non-invasive optically-based continuous glucose monitor. I can’t tell you the time [of the launch], but I’m very excited about the progress we...

Galaxy A56, A36 and A26 get TUV Rheinland certification, hinting at imminent release

It is hardly a surprise that Samsung is working on a new generation of Galaxy A phones. As far as we know, the Galaxy A56, A36 and A26 will be unveiled sometime in the middle of March. All three phones were spotted in the TUV Rheinland certification database. Unfortunately, the source isn't particularly rich in information. It does reveal all of the model numbers for each handset. The Galaxy A56 will be available as the SM-A566B/DS, SM-A566B, SM-A566E/DS, and SM-A566E. The Galaxy A36 will carry the model numbers SM-A366B, SM-A336B/DS, SM-A366E, SM-A366E/DS, SM-A366U, SM-A366U1, SM-A366W,...

New Realme 14x variant launched in Malaysia

The Realme 14x made its debut in India last month as the international version of the China-exclusive Realme V60 Pro. Realme has now announced a slightly altered 14x variant in Malaysia, featuring a smaller 5,000 mAh battery with 15W charging and IP64 dust and water resistance instead of the IP68/IP69 certification on the Indian version. Realme 14x (Malaysia) gets a smaller 5,000 mAh battery The rest of the spec sheet is identical between the two devices with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD (HD+ 120Hz), Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 50MP main cam and an 8MP selfie cam. Sony WH-1000XM6 noise canceling headphones pass through the FCC

Sony launched the WH-1000XM5 (such a lovely name, isn't it?) over-the-ear noise canceling headphones back in May of 2022, and believe it or not, that's almost three years ago. So if you've been patiently waiting for the successor to show up, it looks like it's finally on its way. The WH-1000XM6 (seriously great naming!) has the model number YY2984 and what appear to be removable earpads along with a redesigned hinge. That could amp up the longevity of this set, since in theory Sony could offer replacement earpads if yours break. Or it could sell various colors of earpads separately...

Tata buys Pegatron's iPhone making plant in India

Tata Electronics has acquired a 60% stake in Pegatron's iPhone manufacturing plant in India. Back in March last year, Tata also bought Wistron's operations in India, so it's clearly serious about becoming a big player in electronics manufacturing in India. The acquisition of the controlling stake in Pegatron Technology India has been cleared by the Competition Commission of India. Following the acquisition, Pegatron India will undergo a rebranding to align with the new ownership structure. Tata has already been operating an iPhone assembly plant in Karnataka, acquired via the...

Google Identity Check will help protect your accounts in case of device theft

If your device is outside one of these locations, you will need to authenticate using your biometrics. This will prevent thieves from changing your device PIN, biometrics, turning off Find My Device,...

Samsung Wallet will get peer-to-peer payments, buy now pay later

The Samsung Wallet app is getting some new functionality later this year. First off, it will support peer-to-peer payments. This will be called Tap to Transfer, and will let you transfer money to a different device by tapping that one and yours together. Think of it like Apple's Tap to Cash, but for Android and with support for third-party digital wallets built-in. This will work because it will be linked to the associated debit card or account, not to your Samsung Wallet. So the transaction itself will be handled through Mastercard and Visa. Next up, Instant Installment - Samsung's...
