Samsung Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic promo images leak

Samsung is holding its next Unpacked event on Wednesday, where it's widely expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7, along with the Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic. Now, these two watches have been leaked in a couple of official-looking promo images. As you can see, they confirm the oft-rumored switch to a squircle case design for both the Watch8 and Watch8 Classic, getting them in line with what the Galaxy Watch Ultra started last year. As with the Ultra, the screens are still circular, despite the case shape. Samsung Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic leaked promo...

Here's how much Nothing's CMF Watch Pro 3 is rumored to cost

Nothing's more affordable sub-brand CMF is apparently readying a new smartwatch. This will be called CMF Watch Pro 3 and will obviously be the successor to the CMF Watch Pro 2, which made its debut last year. The CMF Watch Pro 3 is rumored to cost €99 in the Eurozone, as you can see in the screenshot below. The device will be offered in Dark Gray. This leaked price represents a €30 increase compared to the CMF Watch Pro 2, which isn't much in absolute terms, but percentage-wise, that's a 44% hike, so we're hoping this upcoming CMF Watch will also have some impressive hardware and...

TikTok is apparently developing a new app for the US market

TikTok is reportedly working on developing a separate app just for the US market, in order to comply with the country's legislation requiring it to either sell its business in the US or face a ban. The new app is allegedly going to be released on September 5, and US TikTok users will have to switch to it in order to continue using the service. The 'old' app, the one currently in use, will be removed from US app stores when the new one launches and will then stop working entirely around next March. Obviously, if this pans out there will be plenty of notices in the existing app telling...

Top 10 trending phones of week 27

After a short hiatus, our trending chart is back and a lot has changed in the meantime. The Poco F7 is our new champion with the upcoming Pixel 10 Pro the second most popular phone in our database over the past week. The just announced Nothing Phone (3) shot to third, making this a rare week with no Samsung phones on the podium. [#InlinePriceWidget, 13969, 1#] The Galaxy A56 is the best placed phone by the Korean maker in fourth, followed by another yet-to-be-official phone, the OnePlus Nord 5. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra follows in sixth, ahead of the Pixel 10 Pro XL and the...

Weekly poll: Nothing Phone (3), the good, the bad or the ugly?

After releasing the Nothing Phone (2) in 2023, Nothing took a year off from premium phones – but it promised a proper flagship for 2025. And, uh, here it is. The Nothing Phone (3) quickly became the talk of the town and not in a good way. Where should we start? The design is one of the more controversial aspects of the phone and it’s hard to ignore. Nothing has built a reputation for out-of-the-box designs and the brand’s style is instantly recognizable. However, this latest model – remember, it was two years in the making! – caused an avalanche of negative reactions. And that may not...

Deals: the Apple iPhone 16 and Google Pixel 9 series are on sale

You don’t see iPhone discounts often, but this week the entire 16 series is on sale – including the 16e. On the other side of the iOS/Android divide, the Pixels are on sale too. The Apple iPhone 16e serves as the “cheap” iPhone after the SE series was discontinued. We put it in quotes since it’s not that cheap – but having a €100 discount helps. You do lose quite a few features compared to the vanilla 16, though – here is a detailed iPhone 16e vs. iPhone 16 comparison. Apple iPhone 16e €100/€87/€80 off ...

Weekly poll results: the vivo X200 FE is a hit

The vivo X200 FE has a big presence for such a small phone – looking at the results from last week’s poll, this could be the best mini flagship out there. And yes, it’s a mini flagship, less than 5% of voters had issues with the size. Many still haven’t made up their minds and are waiting for a review (ours is coming soon). It doesn’t help that vivo hasn’t confirmed the global pricing yet. That said, the majority of voters are showing strong interest towards the FE. It will compete against the likes of the OnePlus 13s (but the X200 FE wins by default in Europe) and Xiaomi 15 (but...

Deals: Nothing Phone (3) has a discount from the get-go, plus some better looking alternatives

The hotly anticipated Nothing flagship is here – and everyone is talking about it. Unfortunately for Nothing, most of the discussion is about the price and the design and let’s just say that people aren’t heaping praise on the Phone (3). We can’t do anything about the design, but we can help with the price. The Nothing Phone (3), the 512GB model specifically, is already discounted by $100. You can think of this as a free storage upgrade. Note that the phone is still on pre-order and will only start shipping on July 15. The Phone (3) features a 6.67” 1260p+ 120Hz OLED display, not an...

Fairphone 6 aces repairability test

The Fairphone 6 launched last month with an expanded modular design, a better chipset, and a larger battery compared to its predecessor. This is still no flagship Android smartphone, but its key selling point isn't performance or battery life, it's repairability. Thus, you might be interested to find out what the folks over at iFixit have to say about it - after all, they've been championing people's right to self-repair their devices for years, and Fairphone itself is also all about giving people that option. It's all good news for the Fairphone 6, as iFixit has found it to be the most...

We already came across the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7’s EPREL label yesterday which confirmed its battery endurance, alongside key info on durability, repairability and ingress protection. We now have the same details for the Galaxy Z Flip7 which unsurprisingly shares identical scores in terms of overall energy efficiency (B), durability (A) and repairability (C) while also boasting an IP48 ingress protection rating. Honor freezes, bakes, and shoots the Magic V5 to prove how durable it is

Honor made the Magic V5 official a couple of days ago, and today it's shared a new promo video for the phone, which is definitely different. It shows the Magic V5 withstanding a simulation of very forceful pouring rain, which isn't that unexpected considering its IP59 rating for protection from high-pressure water jets. The phone is then frozen, then subjected to a very high temperature. Then things get weird. Steel balls are being shot at the phone to make a point about its durability, and of course it withstands the impacts without any issue. See for yourself above. The Honor...

As far as the...

Counterpoint: Global smartwatch market continues to decline in Q1 2025

It's not looking great for the smartwatch industry as analysts from Counterpoint have recorded a fifth consecutive quarter of decline with 2% year-on-year slip. However, China is experiencing a surge in smartwatch shipments, with a whopping 37% year-on-year growth. Experts point out two major reasons for the global smartwatch market decline. The first is the waning of Apple smartwatch sales, accompanied by a significant and persistent deceleration in India's once-booming smartwatch market. Still, Apple retains the top spot with 20% global share, while recording 9% decline in...

iPhone 17 Pro Max's battery capacity rumored to be larger than its predecessor's

The iPhone 17 Pro Max will come with a larger battery than its predecessor's 4,685 mAh cell. According to a new rumor out of China today, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will finally be the first iPhone to reach 5,000 mAh. As you may know, that's pretty much been the default capacity for flagship Android devices up until recently, when Chinese brands started using Si/C batteries thus taking them past that limit, while Samsung and Google have been content to stay around the 5,000 mAh mark, for now at least. iPhone 16 Pro Max Throughout Apple's iPhone Pro Max line, every new generation brought...

These show the device’s design, which includes three rear panels and two inward folding hinges. The more interesting bit is that the hinges on Samsung’s tri-fold feature different sizes and will reportedly...

Weekly poll: are you interested in the vivo X200 FE?

Tiny flagships with mighty cameras – are smartphone makers finally giving the people what they want? The vivo X200 FE is not as capable as the X200 Pro mini, but at least it will be widely available – which is more than can be said of the OnePlus 13T. The vivo X200 FE has a 6.31” display and while it’s taller, wider and heavier than the Galaxy S25, it is smaller than the Pixel 9 Pro and about the same size as the iPhone 16 Pro (except the iPhone weighs 13g more). It’s almost exactly the same size as the OnePlus 13s (the version of the 13T available only in India). The FE uses the...

Weekly poll results: Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is a hit, no Google services is still a concern

Lack of Google Play Services is still a concern for many, but last week’s poll shows that Huawei has not lost its mojo – the new Pura 80 Ultra in particular is a highly desirable phone. That said, it may be out of reach for many, literally or figuratively. The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra received a very warm welcome. If Huawei was still using Google-connected Android, this could have been one of the best selling premium phones of the year. It’s not just Google Play access, though. When Huawei was embargoed by the US, it had to shrink its global distribution network and it still hasn’t...

Poco F7 vs Poco F7 Pro

The Poco F7 Series is here, and as usual, Xiaomi has released not one, but two near-flagship killers - the Poco F7 and the Poco F7 Pro. Both phones promise top-tier performance, premium features, and competitive pricing, staying true to Poco's legacy of delivering exceptional value. But while the regular F7 lands with a bigger battery and slightly larger display, the Pro model brings a sharper screen, superior cameras, and a more powerful chipset to the table. With just €100 between them, it's a tough choice - so which one offers the better deal? The Poco F7 arrives with a single...

HDMI 2.2 spec released with 96Gbps bandwidth and 16K support

After announcing it at CES earlier this year, HDMI Forum has finally released the latest HDMI 2.2 spec for device and accessory manufacturers. As with previous major HDMI revisions, the major update with version 2.2 is the increase in bandwidth. HDMI 2.2 supports up to 96Gbps bandwidth, twice that of HDMI 2.1 that came before it. However, since this is HDMI Forum we are talking about, and some amount of muddying of water is expected, HDMI 2.2 will also apply to devices supporting 64Gbps, 80Gbps, and the full 96Gbps bandwidth. As usual, there is a big attention-grabbing resolution...

Do you miss the BlackBerry Passport? Well, Unihertz is working on resurrecting the form factor with the Titan series. The latest is the Unihertz Titan 2, which is up on Kickstarter for a crowdfunding campaign. Well, it’s more of a pre-order – the $100,000 goal was unrealistically low and it has already been surpassed over 8 times, anyway. The Titan 2 has a square 4.5” display with 1,440 x 1,440px resolution – just like the Passport. There’s actually a second display on the back too, a 2” 410 x 50px panel, although the utility of that is questionable beyond using it for main camera...
