HMD Skyline to arrive in July, price leaks

HMD's next own-brand smartphone will be called Skyline, according to a new report from the company's home of Finland. The Skyline is said to make its debut in July, as it's apparently due to appear in stock at one Finnish retailer on July 10. This will be higher-end than what we've recently been used to from the HMD and Nokia brands, as it will allegedly retail for €520. It will be offered with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in black, and it will unsurprisingly have dual-SIM support. Its model number is TA-1688. HMD Pulse Pro While no more details about it have been leaked this...

Our Poco F6 video review is out

Poco unveiled the F6 and F6 Pro last week, and the two devices are already on sale. Having looked at the flagship (for Poco at least) F6 Pro in both written and video form, it's now time to turn our attention to the 'vanilla' F6 that is anything but 'vanilla' in reality. It has a lot of specs for the money, and even beats the Pro in some areas like the dust protection and Gorilla Glass version. Plus, it's using the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, which is an almost-flagship chipset - or at least that's what Qualcomm and Poco want us to think. So this is definitely a very intriguing device,...

Reuters: TikTok is splitting its algorithm code to appease the US

TikTok is preparing a second version of its algorithm code for its 170 million users in the United States, reports Reuters. According to multiple sources who spoke to the agency, the work on splitting the code began late last year, predating the Congress-approved bill that wants ByteDance to sell its business in the United States or be banned from the country. The social media owner initially declined to comment, but later, a statement was posted on X, saying the story was “misleading and factually inaccurate” without providing further info on what exactly is inaccurate. The report...

Poco F6 vs. Poco F6 Pro

Poco undoubtedly has a great value proposition going with its latest F6 series. The vanilla F6 starts at $379 globally for a base 8GB/256GB unit, whereas the Poco F6 Pro has a $499 base MSRP for the 12GB/256GB model. That's not an insignificant price difference, and it leads us nicely to the main question we aim to answer - which one is a better deal and, ultimately, a better fit for you personally. Despite sharing the same model family under the Poco brand, the two devices are quite different. Poco relies on Xiaomi RnD and tends to rebrand already existing Xiaomi models for its lineup. In...

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 leaks yet again in full frontal image

Just a few hours ago an image showing a part of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6's back leaked, following another leak yesterday which showed us the top side of its front. Now a new image has been outed and this one shows us the entire front of the device, compared to its predecessor (which is on the left) for good measure. As was already obvious from yesterday's leak, the Fold6 will adopt a more squared-off design, reminiscent of Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra, with corners that are less rounded than the Fold5's. The bezels for the cover screen seem to have been slightly reduced as well,...

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra in for review

We got the Forest Grey model this time and it has a...

Xreal unveils Android-powered Beam Pro with 3D cameras

No, this isn’t a smartphone – but it does run Android. Meet the Xreal Beam Pro, which is meant to be the perfect companion for the company’s Air AR glasses. It’s certainly a huge upgrade over the original Beam. If you’re not familiar, Xreal makes normal-looking glasses that have displays built in. They have no processing power on board, instead they are driven by a smartphone over USB-C (or a computer). Alternatively, you could plug in the Beam to provide power and handle wireless video casting. The Xreal Beam Pro is so much more. It runs “nebulaOS”, which is Android 14 tuned for AR...

It has Gorilla Glass 3 on top, and the panel offers 600 nits peak brightness. There are two big circles on the back – one for the 8 MP camera and the other...

And since the two phones use an identical chipset, it's no surprise the Pixel 8a scored a similar Active Use Score as the original Pixel 8 – 11 hours and 25 minutes. It offers 23 hours of call time, over 10 hours of web browsing, over 13 hours of video streaming and over 7 hours of gaming. Weekly poll results: the Xperia 1 VI is promising but pricey, Xperia 10 VI gets the cold shoulder

Sony has always had a reputation for high quality but expensive products – and that is an apt description of the Xperia 1 VI, judging by the results and comments for last week’s poll. The poll also gauged interest in the Xperia 10 VI mid-ranger, but let’s start with the good news first... sorry, spoilers. Half of voters are interested in the Mark 6 flagship. The unique camera setup drew attention and so did the much-improved battery life. Speaking of, that was helped by the lower resolution of the display, but that caused arguments – is 1080p+ enough for a flagship? Did 4K ever make sense...
